An academic seminar themed”Development of new monitoring strategies for the investigation of acute air pollution and bioaerosol episodes and reducing their impacts on human health”will be held in chengdu, China, nov 10, 2018.

This seminar is supported by the sino-german science foundation research and exchange center(hereinafter referred to as sino-german center) (project number: GZ1502). Jointly sponsored by chengdu university of information technology and the university of Munich, Germany. Co-organized by institute of atmospheric physics of Chinese academy of sciences, institute of environmental protection science of sichuan province, institute of environmental protection science of chengdu, society of environmental science of chengdu, medical meteorology committee of Chinese meteorological society, organized by chengdu university of information technology.

Experts from many units were invited to participate in this seminar. Most experts from Munich university of technology from Germany, the helmholtz center Munich, karlsruhe institute of technology, university of wuppertal, Dusseldorf, the German aerospace centre at the university of applied sciences, university of granada, institute of earth environment, Chinese academy of sciences, lanzhou university, sun yat-sen university, sichuan university, China university of geosciences (Beijing), China university of mining &technology (Beijing), China university of geosciences (wuhan), nanjing information engineering university, Beijing university of chemical industry, the China meteorological administration, meteorological center, China meteorological administration (cma) in Beijing city meteorological institute, Shanghai meteorological bureau climate center in Shanghai, shenzhen research institute of city university of Hong Kong. The symposium will exchange the latest research results and the development and application of new technologies and products of the participating researchers, and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation between atmospheric environment research (aerosol research) and health research. The ultimate goal of the workshop is to identify the main scientific topics of the dfg-nsfc joint research in these areas, as well as the cooperative alliance for research.

I.symposium theme

Conference theme: air pollution and bioaerosol monitoring strategy and new technology development. Reduce the impact of air pollution on human health.

1. Research status and objective of the relationship between air pollution, haze and its associated weather characteristics and human health;
2. The morphology, composition and mixing state of individual particles in major emissions from fossil fuel combustion sources, as well as its influence on the source distribution of ambient air and the formation of new particles;
3. Research on haze and pollution improvement and air quality prediction (including bioaerosols), and the objective of developing environmental health protection tasks;

4.Research and assessment of the impact of extreme weather changes, air pollution and bioaerosols on human health;

5.Observation and research on the effects of meteorological conditions (weather, climate, radiation, atmospheric boundary layer, etc.) on haze formation and aerosol characteristics (especially vertical distribution).

III. Seminar fee

No conference fee will be charged for this seminar. The CSDC will provide travel and board and lodging expenses to participants who are sponsored by CSDC.

Please pay for the travel expenses and accommodation of the remaining participants. Please make sure to book the hotel as soon as possible, otherwise you may not be able to provide accommodation during the meeting. For reference: 360 RMB/person/day for single room and 280 RMB/person/day for standard room.
