2016 Chengdu International Workshop on Madden-Julian Oscillation(MJO) was successfully held by CUIT and LASG from august 6^th to 9^th. More than 130 top scholars and experts among domestic and overseas countries have attended this conference, scholars from ECMWF,CSU,UCB are also involved. Prof. Yuanfa Gong of our school presented their research named‘Characteristics of the Low-frequency Oscillations over the Tibetan Plateau and its Impacts on Extreme High Temperature Events of the Yangtze River Basin in 2013’. Lots of proposals have been put forward, which make a great difference towards the forecast of the extended range and the further research on MJO.
