Recently，DR. Feng in school of atmospheric sciences cooperated with experts in NCAR（National Center for Atmospheric Research），publishing a paper titled Climatology and Structures of Southwest Vortices in the NCEP Climate Forecast System Reanalysis on Journal of Climate. In this paper， DR. Feng reported her latest research achievements in the field of the southwest vortex.

The southwest vortex is a kind of mesoscale weather system happening in Sichuan basin and southeast of the Tibetan Plateau. In terms of intensity, frequency and range of rainstorm weather, southwest vortex is one of the most severe rainstorm systems in China.
