At the afternoon of 24 October, Xiao Lee, director of the new energy data center of China power engineering corporation, was invited by the institute of atmospheric sciences and made a scientific report entitled “wind power industry and electricity meteorological technology demand” at the conference room of the meteorological building 310. This academic report is hosted by associate professor Wei Hua, and teachers and students of the school of atmospheric science actively participate.

Director lee first introduced general situation of State power investment group co. LTD and CLP power engineering co. LTD. Secondly, he explained the role of new energy industry in energy transformation and climate change, and pointed out the important role of wind and solar energy. He introduced the development status of China’s new energy power industry in detail, and pointed out the huge market potential and technology demand of the wind power industry. Finally, he introduced the hot application of meteorological technology in the field of new energy power and the future demand trend of the industry, and pointed out the important practical significance of meteorological technology in the field of new energy power, such as weather element forecast with high accuracy, climate forecast, typhoon forecast and disaster warning.

After the report, director li had an exchange and discussion with teachers and students in the audience, focusing on the hot spots of research on electric meteorological technology and the overview of industrial demand. This exchange activity created a good academic exchange atmosphere, enabling teachers and students to have a deep understanding of the development status of China’s new energy power industry and the application and demand of meteorological technology in the new energy power field.\
