Teachers and students were invited to attend the 35th annual meeting of China meteorological society
From October 23 to 26, 2018, the 35th annual meeting of the Chinese meteorological society with the theme of “intelligent meteorology helps ecological civilization construction”, organized by the China meteorological society, the related disciplines (work) committee and affiliated units, anhui meteorological bureau and Anhui meteorological society, was held in hefei, anhui province. Huijun Wang, President of the Chinese meteorological society, Xinwen Yu, deputy director of the China meteorological administration, and Weidong Liu, deputy secretary-general of the people’s government of anhui province, attended the opening ceremony of the annual meeting. More than 1400 people attended the conference, including academician Ding Yihui, academician Renhe Zhang , researcher Xiaofeng Xu, Ms. Zhongying Zhu, and first-line representative of meteorological research and business.
This annual conference is a four-day event, which features four conference reports, including 23 sub-sessions, two special BBS, three scientists BBS, and three interdisciplinary exchanges. In the same period, professor Shaowu Wang’s academic thoughts and frontier symposium on climate science was held, and wall newspaper exchange was arranged.
There are 31 teachers and students in our school, 30 of whom are from the school of atmospheric science. Professor Shigong Wang and professor Tiangui Xiao made the special invitation report, and 13 teachers and students including associate professor Keyi Chen were invited to give oral reports at each sub-meeting, and 9 teachers and students made wall newspaper communication. Qiufang Su participated in youth BBS for oral presentation, and another 8 students communicated on BBS for wall newspaper.
After the meeting, Associate Professor Keyi Chen’s oral report entitled “Application of Fengyun No.3 Satellite Microwave Hygrometer Data in the European Medium-Term Weather Forecasting Center ECMWF” was named one of the outstanding reports of the 35th China Meteorological Society Annual Meeting. Yi Sun’s poster of “The Impact of Summer Indian Monsoon Change on Precipitation in the Tibetan Plateau” was named one of the outstanding posters of the 35th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Meteorological Society.
The conference provided an important platform for meteorological research experts, business frontline representatives and young scholars to explore academic frontiers and exchange scientific research results. It is of great significance for promoting the development of atmospheric science and improving the level of scientific research.
